Paul Spranklin Response to Roland Barthes

I really like the quote by Roland Barthes because it is a great example of a very common and exciting use of photography. He describes in his quote an example of using photographs as a way to keep a memory or a moment in time captured forever. He describes looking at pictures of his mother after she has passed away and the pictures are his way to keep her alive with him.

Roland Barthes was born on November 12, 1915 in Normandy, France. He was a literary critic, literary and social theorist, and philosopher. He was very influential in the development of schools of theory including structuralism, existentialism, and Marxism.
